Scholarships for Future Educators

Student Information Guide

Finding and hiring qualified, dedicated

school teachers is a national challenge.

The Conroe ISD Education Foundation offers scholarships to talented graduating seniors

desiring to enter the field of education,

and who require financial support

to pursue a college degree.

The Conroe ISD Education Foundation provides scholarships to Conroe ISD graduating seniors who seek careers in teaching kindergarten through high school. The Foundation awards annual scholarships, each of which provides between $500 and $2,000 toward tuition, fees and books during the student's freshman year in college. Each scholarship may be extended for up to three more years, if the student maintains a good academic standing and continues to pursue a degree in K-12 education.

A Foundation scholarship could total up to $8,000 toward four years of college study. The Foundation administers donated funds, as well as various other scholarship funds from businesses, private donations, honorariums and memorials. Amount of scholarship awards vary depending on the scholarship source.  However, a graduating senior who submits an Application Packet to the Foundation will be considered as a candidate for all scholarships offered through the Foundation during that award year.

Application Forms for Conroe ISD Education Foundation scholarships are delivered to the Lead Counsellor at each Conroe ISD high school at the beginning of the calendar year. Students must provide required items in an Application Packet by February 28. Counsellors will screen the Applications Packets received on their campus and select ten of the applicants from that campus as scholarship candidates. The Application Packets of these ten candidates, along with each student's transcript, will be reviewed by a committee appointed through the Foundation. The Selection Criteria/Point Values chart shown on the opposite page is used in awarding all scholarships.
